The Patrick Henry Digital Edition is the first modern documentary editing project dedicated to the collection and publication of the comprehensive writings of Patrick Henry as well as documents from his contemporaries that shed light on his life and times. All work to date was undertaken by Documents Compass, a program of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, with Project Director Susan Perdue and Project editor Will B. Kurtz, from 2014 to June 2016, with funding from the Jessie Ball duPont Foundation.
The Patrick Henry Digital Edition is a work in progress. Visitors to this site will find a complete inventory of known Patrick Henry documents located as of June 2016. A full document search has not been done. Some documents have digitized manuscripts and searchable transcriptions but most do not. Eventually the edition will present fully annotated documents with digitized manuscripts whenever possible. If you have comments, questions, or have identified other Patrick Henry documents, please contact Sue Perdue at firstname.lastname@example.org.
